How does the free trial work?
Your first month is free, with no credit card required and full access to everything. If you haven't written
12 entries by then, your trial keeps going until you have. When it ends, you can continue with a paid plan or
export your data.
What exactly is a "learner"?
Any child whose learning you're documenting. Families pay per child. Programs pay per enrolled learner.
If a child is in two programs, each program pays for them; the family pays nothing extra.
What if my child's program already uses Prism?
You don't pay anything extra. When you claim guardianship, you get full access to your child's portfolio—the
program's subscription covers it. If your child later leaves the program, you can continue with a Family plan
or export everything.
Who owns the portfolio data?
The learner and their family. Always. Programs pay for their educators to contribute to and view portfolios,
but the data belongs to the family. When a learner leaves a program, every entry—including those created
by educators—goes with them.
What happens if a family leaves our program?
They take everything. Every portfolio entry, every learning signal, every report. The portfolio belongs
to the learner, not the program. You stop being billed for that learner, and they keep their complete history.
Entries your educators wrote stay available to your program's owners and admins under Archived Learners, and
can be exported from there for records requests or accreditation.
Can programs start without parents signing up first?
Yes. You add each family with a parent's email and confirm the family has agreed to documentation, then
start documenting right away. Parents claim guardianship whenever they're ready, with nothing for them to set
up before then. When they connect, they'll see everything their child's educators have contributed.
If our program pays, do we own the data?
No. You're paying for access and tooling—the ability for your team to document, view patterns, and
generate reports. The portfolio itself belongs to the learner's family. We built it this way on purpose.
You keep access to the entries your educators wrote, even after a child leaves, but the full portfolio
follows the learner.
What if we need to cancel?
Cancel anytime from your account settings, and you keep full access through the period you've paid for.
After that you can still view and export everything, but you can't create new entries or resources.
Is our data private and secure?
We encrypt your data and never sell it. We take this seriously; we use Prism too.
Learning Signals and the Prism Assistant run on Anthropic's Claude. Learning Signals send the entry's text,
its first photo and the child's age, not the child's name unless someone wrote it in the entry. A parent can
turn photo analysis off in Settings. The Assistant and the reports it writes do use the learner's name.
Anthropic keeps what it receives for about 30 days and never trains on it. Voice notes are transcribed by
Deepgram, and the audio is deleted afterward.

What if our situation changes?
A family joins a program by accepting its invitation, and can leave anytime from their Family page.
If a program is covering your child and you leave, you can continue with a Family subscription.
The portfolio stays with the learner no matter who's paying.
Can we export our data?
Yes. A parent can export a learner's full portfolio anytime: every entry, its learning signals and all the
photos. Reports can be copied, printed or saved from their own pages. Programs can download photos, the
attendance register, and the entries their educators wrote about a learner who has left.
Are there any limits?
Portfolio entries and Learning Signals are unlimited. The Prism Assistant works from a quarterly allowance
sized to your number of learners, and reports need at least 10 entries to draw on.
What if we have more than 100 learners?
We'd love to talk. Larger programs often have specific needs, and we offer custom pricing and onboarding.

Do you offer refunds?
We offer a free trial and then you choose to pay for a subscription. Subscriptions aren't refunded for unused
time in a billing period, but you can cancel anytime to stop the next charge.
